A Bit About Therapy
With David

Life circumstances, especially in view of those involving the pandemic, have become more and more complicated. Stress, grief, family problems, depression, mania, substance use, and other issues, can cause a multitude of other complex mental health problems encompassing many, if not all facets of life. If you are experiencing difficulty coping with increasing stress, burnout, reactions to trauma, conflict in your work or personal life, substance use in your family, your own substance using issues, or the grief due to loss, including jobs or loved ones, I am here to listen and offer direction.

I have worked as a counselor with a previous focus on substance use and co-occurring mood, anxiety, and thought disorders, as well as other mental health issues for over 20 years. I have a Master’s in Clinical Counseling and have practiced in outpatient and inpatient settings. I have experience working with clients from diverse cultures and many walks of life who have interpersonal conflicts, grief issues, difficulty managing symptoms of various mental health conditions, and stress management problems, providing coping skills to manage circumstances in life. My theoretical orientation is predominately Cognitive-Behavior Therapy though have enjoyed supporting individuals improve the quality of their lives through Existential and Family Systems work as well. I am EMDR trained, with specifics through virtual therapy.
